Is this Australia’s best-ever man cave? Hidden gem hits market on the Gold Coast

16 July, 2018

Jet skis, gym equipment, motorbikes, snooker and table tennis, arcade games, a bar and a couple of sleek cars.

It might look like the stuff of dreams but this is the real-life luxe “man cave” of a Gold Coast businessman, now on the market through Ray White Broadbeach.

Agent Adam Grbcic says the owner set up the space at 3-15 Jackman Street to house his family’s “toys” because there wasn’t enough room at home.

Now they’ve found somewhere bigger to live, they’re ready to sell the property that has been a place to work and play for the past two years.

“I would suggest it’s Australia’s best man cave,” Mr Grbcic says. “I’ve never seen anything like it — there are plenty of wannabe versions but here, no expense has been spared.”

Even the neighbours probably don’t realise the extent of what’s behind the big electric roller door at the Southport industrial unit.

“I don’t think a lot would know it even exists — it’s a hidden gem,” Mr Grbcic says. “The owner is very private so while there’s always been plenty of entertaining going on, it certainly wasn’t a party place. Although it would definitely make a good one.”

The original renovation took more than six months and while the “toys” aren’t part of the deal, the new owners will have a contemporary fit-out and a show-stopping graffiti-style mural.

On the 339sqm ground floor is open-plan factory space which is now set up as a games room with a built-in bar. There are also bathroom and kitchen facilities.

Upstairs is 153sqm of mezzanine office space with floor-to-ceiling glass walls overlooking the showroom-warehouse. The boardroom has glass walls and there is another kitchenette.

Of course there’s also plenty of security including CCTV cameras and an alarm. In total, the building has 492sqm of space and stands on 346sqm of land. Both floors are air-conditioned.

“The property would suit anyone looking for the ultimate man cave with room for cars, toys and hobbies,” Mr Grbcic says.

“It would also be ideal for a small or medium-sized business looking for a fun work environment for their staff. It’s the perfect space for Friday afternoon drinks.”

Mr Grbcic is marketing the property with his dad, Tony Grbcic. The team will take it to auction on July 24, 2018, at 11am on-site.
